Do you have a favourite course?

The Eden Course at Fanling is my favourite course in Hong Kong. It’s the kind of course where you can make a lot of birdies and still not break par! It features some really great holes, especially the par-3 17th, which may be one of the hardest 138-yard shots in golf! Bay Hill in Orlando is my favourite overseas course. Although it’s not up there as one of the world's best, it provides a challenge that you never bore of playing.

Who would be in your dream fourball?

My father, who taught me so much about the game, and I would pair up and take on Tiger Woods and Arnold Palmer. I would have to side with my dad otherwise I would most likely find myself on the losing side. I don't think I need to explain too much about why Tiger and Mr Palmer would make up the fourball!

What has been your most memorable moment on a golf course?

When I was working in Dubai, I was teaching a German friend and following two weeks of intense range work we progressed to the course for his first playing lesson. The first two holes we played went well then we came to a par-3 over water measuring 180 yards. I had taken my 7-iron to the tee only to realise it was into a headwind and the 7 was not going to make it over the water. Too lazy to change I explained that I would hit a lower flighted shot with a draw to gain the extra distance that should get me to the hole. So sure enough I hit it as explained and the ball fell into the hole on the second bounce for an ace! Naturally I was pretty excited but my student just said, "What’s all the fuss about? That’s what you said you were trying to do”. Ironically two weeks later he called me from the same hole to tell me he had just made a hole-in-one and was ecstatic. I guess he figured out it was a big deal!
