Tiffany Chan Arrives in Rio

Hong Kong amateur golfer Tiffany Chan Tsz-ching has arrived in Rio ahead of the women’s tournament at Rio 2016, which tees off on Wednesday (17 August) at the Olympic course in Barra da Tijuca on the outskirts of the host city.

"It almost feels a little surreal to be a part of the Olympics," said Tiffany Chan

RIO DE JANEIRO, 14 Aug 2016, (HK Golfer News Wire) - The 22-year-old Chan, one of only three amateur golfers in the field of 60 and the first ever golfing Olympian from Hong Kong, flew into Rio with the Hong Kong Golf Association’s National Coach Brad Schadewitz and caddie, Hong Kong International Steven Lam Tsz-fung.

Chan, who travelled from Toronto after competing at the US Women's Amateur at the beginning of the month, said:

“I am very excited to have finally arrived in Rio, and can already feel the Olympic spirit here at the airport. It almost feels a little surreal to be a part of the Olympics, and I will make sure I savour every second of this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

“My main priorities now are to settle in quickly, catch up on my sleep and get myself acclimatized to the conditions to give myself every chance to do well and make Hong Kong proud. I must thank everyone involved in getting me here because without their support, my dream would not have come true like it has today.”
