HONG KONG, 21 Feb 2015 (HK Golfer News Wire) - The 19-year-old closed with rounds of 70 and 69 for a four-round total of level-par 280 and a seven-shot win over his nearest rival, Michael Regan Wong, in second place. Leon D'Souza, placed third, a further shot adrift.
In the Mid-Amateur division, which is open to players over the age of 25, Doug Williams held off Max Wong by a shot to claim the title following his 296 total.
"This is my biggest win so far and it's a relief to have finally done it," said a delighted Ng, who has come close in the championship on numerous occasions before. "To be honest I feel like I was pretty lucky – I am in the process of changing my swing a little and I got away with a few loose shots, but it's a very good feeling."
Along with the championship trophy, Ng, who attends university in Australia's Gold Coast, earns a place in the Hong Kong Open, the SAR's oldest professional sporting event, which will be played from 22-25 October.
