Ekurhuleni, South Africa, Nov 17, 2012 (AFP) - The South African sunk two birdies in the four holes he completed Saturday morning at the Serengeti Golf and Wildlife Estate.

"I was disappointed yesterday, because I got it going nicely and then that weather came in. As the weather changed, I made bogey and they called it off. I went to sleep last night with not a very nice feeling," said the 28-year-old, who hopes to win the 102nd edition of the world's second-oldest championship after The Open Championship.

"I was quite determined to come out this morning and see if I could get it to eight-under, which I did. I'm very pleased with that and I put myself right back in there."

At eight-under-par 136, Schwartzel is tied with Scotland's Lloyd Saltman in fourth position, five strokes behind halfway leader Henrik Stenson from Sweden, who ended his round on Friday with thirteen-under 131.

"Henrik has had two good rounds, but that's what's out on this golf course, and I feel like I've got one of those, so I'm not too worried," said Schwartzel.

South African Merrick Bremner, leader of the first round, starts the third with Stenson and another Swede, Magnus A Carlsson. The 26-year-old is in second position, three strokes behind Stenson with 134, and one ahead of Carlsson.

"I just need to keep doing what I've been doing and hit some good tee shots, and I hope to set up some birdies," he said.
