Ding and Li shine at FCG International

Virginie Ding and Selina Li claimed third and fourth respectively in the 13-14 age division of the 2016 FCG International Junior Golf Championship.

SAN DIEGO, 6 July 2016, (HK Golfer News Wire) - Playing the 5570-yard Oak Glen Course at Sycuan Resort in San Deigo, Ding and Li showed consistency in the 36-hole event.

Virginie Ding recorded the only eagle in her age division and claimed third with a total of two-under 142. Ding’s impressive first round included an eagle on the 484-yard par-5 10th hole and two more birdies on the 11th and 13th. Following Ding closely in fourth place is Hong Kong teammate Selina Li, who posted a total of one-over 145. Li scored a birdie on the signature 5th hole during the second round.

Also representing Hong Kong, Issac Lam and Leon D’Souza are set to play their final round on Wednesday (United States time) while 12-year-old Chloe Chan will tee off on Thursday.

Founded in 2008, the FCG International Junior Golf Championship has grown to over 600 annual participants from more than 30 countries. The event is open to every competitive junior golfer age 5-18 from around the world.
