LANCASHIRE, 7 Aug 2015, (HK Golfer News Wire) - She was tied for second at the halfway point of the 72-hole tournament, but found the course more difficult in the fourth and final round finishing in a tie for 14th with a 14-over 74-72-75-81--302.

No players on the 6,941-yard, par 72 St. Annes Old Links course played under par. Samantha Gilles of Great Britain won the event with a 1-over 73-72-71-73--289. The course lies along the Fylde Coast and often golfers played in harsh conditions.

For Cheung, it was her first trip to England and playing a links course.

"It’s really windy but you learn to keep the ball low. The greens are really so nice and smooth, so good," Cheung said.

In her round of 72, Cheung had a par 3 on the difficult ninth hole. The signature hole of St. Annes was voted by Golf World in 2010 as the top ninth hole in Great Britain and Ireland.

Cheung is a past winner of the Hong Kong ladies’ championship and had a top 20 finish in this year’s Hong Kong Ladies’ Open on the Asian Tour.

As a collegiate golfer, Cheung had a great spring season finishing among the top three Badgers in three tournaments. Her 75.61 scoring average was third on the team and ranks 10th all-time. She had her career-best 54-hole score placing in a tie for 22nd with a 70-75-73--218 at the Westbrook Spring Invitational.

She led the Badgers at the Silverado Showdown tying for 11th with a 77-73-72--222. Cheung was a member of UW's NCAA Regional qualifying team placing 77th at the St. George Entrada Course with a 80-82-75--237.

Cheung will begin her junior season this fall at Wisconsin.
