Hak is Back!

Local favourite Jason Hak will be taking part in the inaugural Clearwater Bay Open, the first PGA TOUR China series event to be held outside of the mainland.

Eight years ago, Jason Hak Shun-yat thrilled everyone - spectators, media, his fellow players - as a 14-year-old by making the cut at the 2008 UBS Hong Kong Open, becoming the youngest player in the history to make the weekend action at a European Tour event. Despite making the cut in the historic championship on another two occasions, and earning a place at golf-renowned Georgia Tech, the Hong Kong-born Hak, who moved to the United States at the age of 11, hasn’t exactly had the best of times since turning pro back in 2013 … until now, that is.

The 22-year-old has been in arguably the best form of his life on the PGA Tour China Series, finishing with a slew of high finishes and coming close on more than one occasion to clinch that elusive first title.

With things finally going his way, the tall Hak, who until he turned pro was a regular international representative for Hong Kong, is targeting success at the inaugural Clearwater Bay Open, a PGA Tour China Series event, which will be played early next month.
