Ting wins TaylorMade-adidas Golf Junior All-Star

Max Ting wins by one stroke

"I made sure not to worry about what the competitors were doing,” Ting said

WINONA LAKE, 27 Jun 2015, (HK Golfer News Wire) - Max Ting of Atherton, California shot a 2-under-par 69 in the final round of the TaylorMade-adidas Golf Junior All-Star at Stonehenge for a tournament total of 5-under-par 208 and was crowned the Boys Division champion. In the Girls Division, Alisaundre Morallos of Long Beach, California carded a final round 3-under-par 68 to win at even-par 213.

Being tied for first after the second round Ting managed to take the lead and win his first AJGA event. He successfully stuck to his game plan even through the difficult weather conditions and tallied five birdies for the day.

"I made sure not to worry about what the competitors were doing,” Ting said. “I was down the whole day but I managed to finish it off, this is really special.”

For his third AJGA event this year he is excited about his early success and can’t wait for what is next.

Dylan Fritz of Las Vegas, Nevada finished in second at 4-under-par 209. Joey Ranieri of Zionsville, Indiana and Daniel Nam of Duluth, Georgia tied for third at 1-under-par 212. Adam Bratton of Newburgh, Indiana finished in 5th at 1-over-par 214.

In the Girls Division, Morallos’ plan was to play conservative and avoid big numbers in order to climb atop the leader board.

"I was thinking to myself, focus for each shot, stay steady, and avoid big mistakes today,” Morallos said.

Coming off tied for third at the AJGA Toyota Music City Junior earlier this month she continued her momentum into this event, especially the final round.

"I was four strokes behind going into today and my main goal was to focus on putting so I could take advantage of those opportunities,” Morallos said.

Katie Hallinan of Loveland, Ohio finished in second place at 4-over-par 217. Zoe Antoinette Campos of Valencia, California took third place at 9-over-par 222.
