HONG KONG, 17 May 2016, (HK Golfer News Wire) - Now in its eight year, a total of 124 amateur golfers attended the event at Fanling, all of whom had earned their spot through the ‘Road to MercedesTrophy Hong Kong 2016’, a qualifying format for several hundred local golfers in co-operation with the Hong Kong Golf Association.
On the day, golfers enjoyed perfect weather plus a collection of special cars on display around the course – a Mercedes-Benz GLE, a Mercedes-Benz GLS, a Mercedes-AMG SLC and the “Hole-in-one” prize, a Mercedes-Benz C 200 Coupe.
The evening’s activities featured a poolside cocktail reception, followed by the gala dinner and award ceremony. Seven winners were announced and will be eligible to enter the MercedesTrophy Asian Final, to be held on 9-12 August in Brisbane, Australia. A special note of thanks was also given to the prize sponsors Hugo Boss, TaylorMade and Golf Vacations.
Of the Hong Kong representatives entering the MercedesTrophy Asian Final, the highest scoring Mercedes-Benz owner will qualify to represent Hong Kong against golfers from all over the world in the MercedesTrophy World Final, to be held in Stuttgart, Germany in October.
