SINGAPORE, 21 Oct 2015, (HK Golfer News Wire) - As part of Hilton Worldwide’s (NYSE: HLT) newest partnership with the region’s premier Tour, the Asian Tour Hilton Golfer of the Month award aims to recognise outstanding efforts of Asian Tour members both at home and abroad.
The online voting contest on www.asiantour.hiltongolf.com to determine the monthly winner, engages golf fans as they vote for their favourite golfer through the Asian Tour’s media channels, culminating with fans voting for the Asian Tour Hilton Golfer of the Year at the end of 2015.

Lahiri was voted as the winner of the first Hilton Asian Tour Golfer of the Month award based on his stellar performance from June to September, with subsequent awards based on monthly achievements as the Asian Tour is now back in full swing.
Ranked 39th in the world, the Indian star enjoyed a spell-binding opening nine months in 2015 which saw him win two events sanctioned by the Asian Tour and European Tour.
Lahiri also finished joint fifth in the PGA Championship for India’s best performance in a Major in August and became the first Indian to earn a spot with the Presidents Cup’s International Team.

Lahiri won the award ahead of Thai duo Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Prayad Marksaeng where the three players were nominated by a selection panel before going into a voting process.
