Junior in Focus: Taichi Kho

Hong Kong Junior Team Squad Member Taichi Kho

14-year-old Taichi Kho

Coach Brad Schadewitz on Taichi:

Taichi has been on the squad about 5 years and has always been near the top of every age group he’s been in. Now he has reached the elite junior level - 13 to 17 age group - and is again proving that he is one of the best in his age group.

As he keeps growing, gets stronger and maintains his patience, he will continue to improve and get better.

Doug Williams on Taichi:

I played with Taichi in Rounds 2 and 3 of the Kau Sai Chau International Amateur Open last week. He is a very promising and talented 14-year-old who has an excellent game. A fine young man on his way to becoming an excellent golfer. Interesting fact: I won the first KSC Amateur before he was even born!

Taichi on himself:

Although I’m still a short hitter, I’ve gained quite a bit of distance in the past couple months. I’ve been practicing a lot this year. My short game is what has been keeping me in contention in tournaments.

I’m fortunately to be a member of Discovery Bay Golf Club, and it has been a bonus in my training schedule. I get to play once at DB every weekend. I’m also in the Pinnacle Gym sessions and work out about 4 times a week.
