Italy's Manassero to Play in Aussie Masters

Manassero heading down under in December for Australian Masters

SYDNEY, August 15, 2011 (AFP) - Rising Italian golfer Matteo Manassero will join world number one Luke Donald and Ian Poulter in the field for the Australian Masters in Melbourne in December, organisers said on Monday.

Manassero, who became the youngest winner in European Tour history when he captured the Castello Masters in October last year, is ranked 30 and will be making his first trip to play in Australia.

Manassero was just 17 years and 188 days when he won the Castello Masters and went on to claim his second European Tour win at this year's Malaysian Open shortly before his 18th birthday.

The Australian Masters takes place at The Victoria Golf Club from December 15-18.
