Lam, 16, was consistently personified during the rainswept final round, carding two birdies and just one bogey in his one-under 69, which enabled him to become the first local boys’ winner since Steven Lam in 2009.
Hsieh Ting-wei of Chinese Taipei finished in a tie for second with Hong Kong’s Leon D’Souza on a two-day score of 151.
"I just tried to treat it like any other round, to not put any pressure on myself," said Lam, a student at International Christian School. "I relied on my short game quite a bit and made a few nice putts. I was rolling. It feels great."
In the overall girls’ division, Thailand’s Chayanit Wangmahaporn cruised to a seven-shot win after adding a 73 to her first round 76. Hong Kong’s Vivian Li placed second after closing with a 75.
