Clearwater Bay Ready for the AAC

Clearwater Bay has unveiled a series of enhancements to its clubhouse and golf course in preparation for the AAC.

Already one of the region’s most striking golf courses, improvements have been made to the executive nine-hole golf course and driving range while the installation of a golf simulator, together with upper and lower lobby renovations have all been undertaken at the main Country Club facility.

The executive nine-hole golf course and driving range improvements were undertaken specifically for the AAC and include enhancements to the chipping and putting green and replacement of turf grass on the nine-hole golf course. Aerification of the putting greens has been undertaken while the areas surrounding the holes have been modified to improve the overall look and feel of the course.

At the Golf Club, an extension has been added to the Horizons restaurant, providing more space for functions and events - an addition scheduled specifically to accommodate the AAC’s hospitality and entertainment requirements.

The enhancements have been designed not only to provide the best possible course and facilities for the staging of the highly prestigious AAC, but also to project a new image of Hong Kong as the host city for international golf tournaments, as Peter Downie, the Club's General Manager, explained:

“Apart from working actively to provide the best environment for AAC tournaments, The Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club also aimed at creating a positive image of Hong Kong as the host city of AAC. Hong Kong, not only having a world class golf course, but can also provide high-quality venue for international competitions, which will surely impress the audience around the globe.”
