You’re right of course, but he wasn’t the first. I’m referring to Craig Wood, one of the most consistent players on the PGA tour in the 1930s and 1940s – and arguably the most unlucky.
Born in Lake Placid, New York in 1901, Wood won 21 PGA titles over his career, but for many years was seen as “jinxed” in the Majors, as title after title slipped away.
