Adding to the allure is the Feathers Spa, a brand new in-house facility with a team of 30 associates. Opening their own spa gives the hotel the ability to offer resort-style vacation packages, and features Zents and Pevonia products – the only spa in Tennessee to carry these. Going above and beyond the call of duty to bring our readers the inside scoop, the HK Golfer editorial team can selflessly attest to the first class nature of the massages, body wraps, facials and facial enhancements, wax treatments, manicures and pedicures, hair styling, and make-up application services available - although the facial enhancements rejected my body shortly thereafter!
The Peabody is also perfectly placed to enjoy the nightlife in the legendary Beale Street, being a short 5 minute walk away. We kicked off the culinary side of the tour with a late dinner in the Kings Palace Cafe, which ironically specializes in New Orleans style creole dishes. As one might expect, the gumbo and shrimp is to die for and the ribs were outstanding. As we dined we were entertained by the hugely talented resident guitar player, David Bowen, who fittingly was a dead ringer for the legendary B.B.King!
After dinner we took a stroll along to the Rum Boogie Café - motto: “eat. drink. boogie. repeat” - which, in addition to first class blues bands playing every night, has a stunning collection of signed guitars lining the walls. En route, be sure to check out the infamous diving goats in the deliciously named Silky O’Sullivans!
