Gateway to the Blues
The blues theme is never far away, and there is a must-see attraction nearby in the shape of the Gateway to the Blues Visitor Centre and Museum. Clumsy name aside, this is a great facility, from the stunning entry building - a transplanted one-room train station, built in the 1890s, which even includes a length of railway track out front - to the huge Tardis-like expanse within housing a museum covering the history of the blues and role played by Tunica and surrounds.
There is plenty of memorabilia on display, and even a small recording studio where you can record your own impromptu blues composition after getting coaching via a short interactive video (A, A, B is the secret apparently). The gift shop had genuinely interesting products on sale (a rarity) and a vast array of information for visitors and locals alike. A delightful find and definitely worth seeking out.
