Wallett added, “It was great that for the first time in this tournament, we had all the HK players made the cut. I can really see an HK player winning this championship in the future, and it’d be great to one time see an HK player grace the fairways of Augusta at The Masters. During the week, the players had the chance to meet and talk with Tom Watson, a Major champion and an icon of the game, which was a great experience for them. Many congratulations to all organisers who made this tournament such a memorable experience for all concerned”.
“The course was in superb condition, and the organiser is unbelievable – this is always the favourite tournament of the year for us, and this was the 6th time I’ve participated in this event, which was my best result to date. I drove the ball very well. This course is not long, so I know if I put the ball in the fairway, I will have many opportunities to get the ball close to the hole. I just stick to the game plan and stay patient,” said Ng.
Takumi Kanaya from Japan won the tournament with an impressive -14 in total and received invitations to play in the 2019 Masters and the 2019 British Open.
