Lam, 19, who enrolled at Santa Barbara City College, which is ranked as the number one community college in the country, at the end of last year, fired rounds of 68 and 69 to take medalist honours in the 36-hole Western State Conference Men’s Golf Finals at the end of April. His seven-under-par effort also helped his team, the Vaqueros, shoot a season best to win the event comfortably. SBCC finished the conference in second place behind the College of the Canyons Cougars.
"I’m really enjoying it here in Santa Barbara, it’s so beautiful – we’re really close to the Pacific Ocean,” said Lam (pictured), a Hong Kong international regular for the past five years. "We’re able to practice on some great golf courses and I’ve been playing pretty well, too. It’s been a lot of fun."
