The number of PGA Tour events 34-year-old Jimmy Gunn had played before the US Open. The US-based Scot, who got into the event as second alternate, found the links-style course to his liking as he made the cut and wound up finishing in a tie for 27th, earning US$64,126 in the process.


Despite the criticism of the greens at Chambers Bay, Chinese Taipei’s Pan Cheng-tsung made only one three-putt over the course of the four days, the lowest of anyone. Pan’s only blemish came on the 13th hole during the final round.
