Park Looking to Continue Dominance

Four-time winner faces a strong challenge at this month's Ageas HKPGA Championship

Unho Park in action during last year's championship

Unho Park turns 42 on the eve of this month's Ageas HKPGA Championship – and he would like nothing more than to celebrate his birthday by extending his own remarkable record in the event with a fifth consecutive victory.

There had been some doubt as to whether the Singapore-based Australian would be able to travel to Hong Kong to ensure he could put up a defence of his title. Although Park's form on the Asian Tour in 2015 had been solid, if not spectacular, he found himself dangerously close to losing his card. Fortune favours the brave, however, and despite missing the cut at the season-ending Philippine Open last month, Park managed to cling on by the narrowest of margins, finishing in 63rd spot on the Asian Tour Order of Merit to secure his playing rights by a mere US$1,159.

"It wasn't looking good for a while there," admitted Park, whose best result of the season came at the Mercuries Taiwan Masters where he finished in a tie for fifth. "But I managed to hold and keep my card. It's a relief heading into Christmas and the New Year and I'm determined to put in a strong showing in Hong Kong."
