GREENSBORO, August 18, 2013 (AFP) - Reed, 23, used three late birdies as he overcame a three-hour delay to join Huh atop the leaderboard of the rain-hit tournament. Reed and Huh are both sitting at 10-under 200.
"I am not happy with the round but I can't be disappointed with the position I am in," said overnight leader Reed, whose wife Justine is caddying for him this week.
With weather forecasters predicting more rain Sunday, organizers decided to send players off two tees in threesomes for the fourth round, as was the case Saturday.
Reed began the rainy day at 11-under and leading Huh, who is also 23, by one stroke. He dropped three strokes by the 12th hole but reeled off three straight birdies starting at the 14th.
Reed then dropped back into a tie with Huh when he couldn't get up and down at the 18th, where he missed an 11-foot putt to save par.
If Reed he claims his maiden PGA Tour win Sunday it would be a family affair.
Justine was also Reed's caddie in La Quinta, California, where Reed secured a PGA Tour card at qualifying school.
"She just has a knack for reading greens extremely well," Reed said.
Huh got off to a rough start with an early triple bogey before settling in nicely and finishing strong for an even-par 70.
Huh's triple bogey came at the second hole. He answered with 10 straight pars and then birdied three of his next four.
"It was pretty rough start for me, you know, because the second hole you don't want to start like a triple. But, you know, I pulled my second shot a little bit and put myself in the wrong spot and instead of taking medicine I get too greedy and it turns out I make a triple there," said Huh.
Former Masters champion Zach Johnson is vying for his fifth straight top-10 finish -- and perhaps a first win of the season -- after posting a third-round 66.
Johnson was tied for third place at nine-under with Bob Estes (68) and Jordan Spieth (70).
Robert Garrigus (68), Matt Every (68) and Brian Harman (69) shared sixth at eight-under, Brendan Steele (66) was in solo ninth at six-under and defending champion Sergio Garcia (70) was tied for 10th with four others at minus-five.
