Dale Leads Curtailed Asia-Pacific Senior Champs

Australian takes one-shot lead into the final round at Discovery Bay; Hong Kong's William Chung in second

William Chung cards a 74 in the first round

Australia's Denis Dale will take a slender lead into the final round of the Asia-Pacific Senior Amateur Championship, which is being held at Discovery Bay Golf Club.

Dale, 64, from New South Wales, carded a first-round 73 to lead Hong Kong's William Chung and New Zealand's Frank Borren by a shot.

Constant rain and fog meant organizers were forced to cancel the second round, turning the championship into a 36-hole tournament.

Aided by Chung's 74 and a solid 75 from Roddy Sage, Hong Kong lie in third place in the Championship's team event on a total of 310. Australia lead on 301, with New Zealand in second, three strokes back.
