Final Shot with Dr Brian Choa

Alex Jenkins talks to the Hong Kong Golf Association's Chairman of Rules about his introduction to the game, his favourite courses and who he'd have in his dream fourball

The New Course at Fanling

Do you have a favourite course?

Of the Fanling courses, I like the New best. It is the toughest and fairest test of the three and one has to play all parts of the game well. Outside Hong Kong, the Old Course at St Andrews is my favourite because of the way you have to vary the way you play the holes depending on the conditions.

Who would be in your dream fourball?

As it is to be a dream fourball, I shall choose people I have not actually played with: Corey Pavin, who one of my favourite players to watch; Lee Trevino, who is another great shot-maker, and Bob Jones. No doubt I shall have an enormous inferiority complex by the end of the round!

What has been your most memorable moment on a golf course?

Growing up as a golfer in Fanling, my greatest ambition was to win the Club Championship, so my first win in that event was my biggest thrill. I don’t think I would have been as thrilled if I had won the British Amateur!
