Zhuo and Li Lead Way in U.S. Kids Golf World Championship Qualifier

More than 100 children were at the Hong Kong Golf Club’s Deep Water Bay last month to take part in the Hong Kong Qualifier for the 2015 U.S. Kids Golf World Championship

Alex Zhuo and Selina Li fired the lowest rounds of the day to earn exemptions into the U.S. Kids Golf Teen World Championship at the famous Pinehurst golf resort in America.

Hosted by the HKGA, 14-year-olds Zhuo and Li posted matching scores of 30 over nine holes at Deep Water Bay to win the Boys’ and Girls’ 14-year-old age groups. At the other end of the age spectrum, seven-year-old Arianna Lau carded a 39 to win the Girls’ 7-and-under division.

With the field divided into 17 age categories, the winners aged 12 and under earned an exemption into the U.S. Kids Golf World Championship at Pinehurst, North Carolina on July 30-August 1 while the winners aged 13 and 14 qualified for the U.S. Kids Golf Teen World Championship on July 23-25, also at Pinehurst.

U.S. Kids Golf was recently unveiled as the HKGA’s Official Supplier of junior golf equipment in a partnership that is focusing on bringing new children into the sport in Hong Kong. “We are proud to support initiatives which help grow the game in Hong Kong and it was great to see so many kids at Deep Water Bay having fun,” said Walter Yeung, Chief Executive Officer of RSH (Hong Kong) Limited, which distributes U.S. Kids Golf in Hong Kong and Macau.
