Discovery Bay Golf Club member Ho, who attends Fresno State in California, finished in a share of 10th to help guide Hong Kong – who were also represented by Isabella Leung (13th) and Michelle Cheung (tied 22nd) – into fifth place in the women's team event.

Czech Republic, led by Karolina Vlokova who scooped individual gold, dominated the championship, which is organised by the International University Sports Federation.

Hong Kong's highest-ranked player, Tiffany Chan, who won the individual title in 2014 in Switzerland, was unavailable for selection as she looks to sew up her place at the Rio Olympics with a strong performance in this week's Kumho Tire Ladies Open, a China LPGA and Korea LPGA co-sanctioned tournament in Shandong province.

In the men's event, Terrence Ng was the pick of Hong Kong's players, the 22-year-old earning a share of 11th, three shots ahead of teammate Matthew Cheung in 19th. With Michael Wong finishing in 33rd, Hong Kong claimed sixth spot, behind hosts France who cruised to a six-shot triumph.
